Wall of the Week

Ok next up on Wall of the Week, this stunning wall from Jana at HejHej Living

I’m going to talk about this in stages as there is so much I like about it.

The Placement.

Opting for a gallery wall in the centre of a space like this is bold. The way the frames have been laid out creates a shape in and of itself, bringing the images together as one as opposed to lots of different images for your eyes to dart between. Because of this close placement on a large wall your eyes settle on it as a whole to be viewed and not individually.

The Frames

This is further achieved by using frames of the same or at least similar colours. They are also all a similar width and from looking here, probably texture. None of the frames stand out and detract from the whole picture the frames create.

The Images

Although very different all of the images are quite minimalist in nature. They are not busy or technical, they are abstract and textured. They do not require you to necessarily get up close to view the impact of the image, perfect for a large gallery wall. The blue faces draw you in and lead you to examine the more subtle shapes and textures around them.

The images and their frames fit so beautifully in the space too. They don’t detract you from admiring the furniture that surrounds them and they are also in keeping with the calm, clean atmosphere that’s been created. Just wonderful.
